As I expect most of you are, I am a voracious reader. I have a taste for everything, but not enough other hungry readers in my life to get good book recommendations. Tell me the five latest books you've read, or five books you can think of off the top of your head, or just five great books of all time.
My latest reads: The Hole, Burt (not so great) The Magicians, Grossman (pretty good) One Crazy Summer, Williams-Garcia (good) Breaking Stalin's Nose, Yelschen (not great) Inside Out and Back Again, Lai (ok, very short)
I'm currently reading Cutting For Stone, Verghese. I'll let you know how it was.

5 latest?
The Hunger Games trilogy (First one was a good read, second was decent, and the third was poorly done) Heaven is For Real, Burpo (Very good) Inheritance, Paolini (was alright, it'll be a better book if he keeps with the world he has created)

I will look up Heaven is for Real, then.
I just finished The Magician King, Grossman (sequel to the Magicians and a good sequel too) and Ham on Rye, Bukowski (seemingly pointless). I tried reading The Reluctant Tuscan, Doran but found it too dull to get through more than half. Perhaps if you really like Italy?

The Art of Racing in the Rain, Stein is very good but I warn you the dog dies Cutting for Stone, Verghese was slow and somewhat boring Prom, Anderson was a light fluffy read good for when you don't really feel like focusing on reading

-Wicked, Maguire - just finished and it was pretty good. Haven't read the other two books in the trilogy yet. -Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - my husband read this before the movie came out and he liked it so now I'm working on it. It's a bit of a difficult read but well worth it so far.
Annnnd I'm probably going to jump on the band wagon and try the Hunger Games soon. I did see the movie, I thought it was ok (a bit juvenile for me but I didn't fall asleep during it and it's over 2 hours long so that's a good sign).

Nooo Not the hunger games! I did not care for the main character at all.

Compromised, Ayarbe was good. Best Foot Forward, Bauer was another light fluff read that took a couple of hours and left me feeling happy but not overly attached.

Well, my libraries are pretty terrible (I live within walking distance of three -- how do none of them have the books I want?), so I've been reading a lot of lousy young adult books lately. I'll spare you that. So, here are the most recent books I've read and enjoyed: 1. The Fault in our Stars, John Green. I cried. A lot. 2. The Outside Chance of Maximilian Glick, Morley Torgov. It's not my favourite book by any stretch, but it takes place in my city (well, it has a different name, but it's kind of blatantly the Soo anyway), so that's kind of nifty. 3. Dust, Arthur Slade. That book scared the living daylights out of me when I was ten. It still creeps me out. 4. Several collections of Margaret Atwood's poetry. She's just so amazing. 5. The Handmaid's Tale, Margaret Atwood. Creeped me right out. I'm glad I finally read it, though -- I'm too big an Atwood fan to justify not having picked it up.
