Amp is awesome! I've actually only had it once, but it was really yummy. I think I may stock up on it for this semester. Isn't this sad -- two days into college and I'm already sleepy? My courseload's not even that hard.
Youth group. Haha, I hate youth group. (Mine's super messed-up). Still, a good place to meet someone. :-D

the youth group i go to is sooo amazing. I've never been to a place that has made me feel more at home. They believe that you shouldn't come to youth group to be preached at, they believe in Family. you should come to youth group to have a Strong family of believers to help encourage you. they still preach a sermon of course, but they make you feel like part of a family. They're so on fire for God its amazing.

That's great. The preaching at my youth group is really solid, they always preach the Bible and my youth pastor is very intelligent.... but it's weird, I feel like the kids don't take the message to heart. I think this is because my church is really fundamental and conservative, plus there's a church school. So these kids in my YG have been at the church for several years, and many of them go to the school, so they don't know anyone else (I thought I was sheltered until I started going to this church). I think that all the Biblical preaching has gotten old and dry to them.
Plus, knowing nobody outside of the church has made them really cliquish, so new people can't help but feel like they're intruding (I immediately got pulled into the homeschooler's clique, lol). And the majority of the kids are focusing on finding a bf/gf, but because the church believes in courtship everyone's doing it under the radar, which ramps up the drive to find someone, if that makes sense. So that is amusing in a really sad way.... I'm not showing both sides, though. Everyone pays attention and prays and such; I just get the feeling that it's more ritual than love for Christ. Yeah, I despaired of my youth group for a while, but then I met this guy who told me that a lot of people in churches like this one are just as lost as people on the street because the message has gotten so old. So if I hadn't graduated, I'd be trying to find a way to witness to the people who go to YG, although I've got my own problems so I dunno how well that'd work. Doesn't that sound strange?

I got kicked out of youth group. Go figure. But it was a really weird youth group, so I didn't mind.
I know what you mean, Kat. I started attending this highschool youth group thing, even though I wasn't in highschool, and it was a very similar situation. Church/School youth group thing. It's was a really nice place but the kids were all so jaded, they were there but they weren't listening. Then I started attending a college group that's just amazing. It doesn't have the level of community, like Tony's, that I would want but the teachers are just incredible. Plus I've got my own little group of friendlies and we are a sort of impromptu youth group. ^_^
Kat, it doesn't sound strange. I think there's a method of ministry that doesn't get a lot of attention: and that's taking care of people who already believe. Courtship is weird. I never did understand how it was different from dating. It seems to create a lot of tension between people, but then, I know very few people who are into that, so... Yeah...
College has only been going on for two weeks now, for me, and I'm already exhausted. I'm taking this class that gets out at nine, but I always end up staying late in the dark room to work until it closes at 10, so I get home at 11, and then get to leave for work again at 7... I just want to take a nap!!

Lol, that's nice. I def need to get in more with college groups.
Pretty much the only difference between courtship and dating is that courtship is dating with the specific intention of marriage in mind whereas most normal dating is like, take it as it goes and if it lasts that long, yay.
My night class was supposed to get out at 8:50, but my teacher is so sleepy by then that she already is saying that we'll normally get out at 8:30. I'm pretty happy with that, but I'm still trying to transfer. Nights are really my best thing.
