Lol, I want to go see it . . . but I think I'll wait until it comes out on DVD, or pay-per-view, or w/e, because I never was a *huge* fan of the book . . .

oh no! How could you not be a fan of the book?! The movie was so wonderful because almost everything was just the way I'd pictured it. I loved Mr. Tumnus. ^_^ Did Lewis write his Narnia chronicles as a Christian allegory, or not? Apparently there is a source where he said that he had *not* meant it that way. (He also did not want it made into a movie.)

Narnia is *definitely* an allegory. He calls Aslan the "lion and the lamb." I've heard a lot about Lewis lately (especially the dirt on him) and I've decided to ignore it and judge things for myself.

::cough:: Tolkien said his works weren't supposed to be an allegory, perhaps you're getting them mixed up?
Besides, how could the author of "Mere Christianity" deny that his books have a deffinite allegorical appearance?

I know Tolkien said that, but I have a coworker who apparently wrote her thesis on the theory that C.S. Lewis said the same thing about the Narnia books.
However, I think she's wrong. I've done some researching myself and I'm quite certain that, while he did make some remarks to the effect that he didn't want to be shoving Christianity in anyone's face, he did not say Narnia was not meant as a Biblical allegory. ^_^
But anyway.

Yeah, he didn't want the parents pushing the kids to understand the story in a Christian aspect. He hated forced religion.

Because it goes against Christianity, dear, not because he's against it. Christianity is based on personal freedom and will, not on parents making their kids obey their hosen religion. Especially since parents can be such a poor example of Christ.... ::moodiness::

Did anyone else see the blooper of the cricket ball hitting Edmund's head? That was hilarious.

No, lol! Now I gotta see it. My brother bought the DVD but he's very jealous of his things.
