Hey everybody just saying hi and seeing who all remembers me. I just got home today after my first section of training down in TX so I'll be home through Christmas now. This place isn't looking very busy but I see a few ppl still get on ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

It was an incredible experience really. Life totally stunk, Marine's honestly don't have anything on ALERT as far as pure 100% intensive training. The first section isn't really anything more than getting kicked around, doing lots of pushups, and doing extremely long hikes (longest was 24 straight hours). Not much sleep, not much to eat, and never a moment to relax. Can't get any better than that huh? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) But I really learned a lot about myself through it all and definitely had some amazing experiences that I'll never forget. I get a 6 week furlough now and report back on January 2nd to began regular training as an ALERT man. So yeah that's what I've been up to... fun stuff ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

Good luck! And kudos on job choice. It really shows character to choose that in the middle of a war.

*glomps* Welcome home! Did you get the "no speech allowed" treatment at all?

Oh absolutely. The first couple weeks we were on "voice lock down" which means we didn't speak... period. Kind of made us feel like monks. And even after that got lifted you had to ask permission to ask a question or make a statement to any of your cadre.
